Curious as to what the Lou Reed not Lou Reed selections were. Mink DeVille and Garland Jeffreys instantly spring to mind. my mail order brain immediately kicked into high gear when I read that. I was always eager to give advice about music to others but never that eager to receive it. I have this weird thing where I don't accept music as valid unless I stumbled across it on my own. Personally, I think crate diggers are way more out there in terms of pretense than any record store employees I have ever met, most of whom are genial not surly. Maybe I am just speaking for myself? I used to do an overnight show in LA, I think I really spoke with an extraterrestrial or maybe just a crazy guy on drugs with a voice processing unit either way it was way pretty out there. Out there enough for me to check out John Was Trying To Contact Aliens. Thanks for the recommendation. Haven't listened to anything by Harmonia recently except for Harmonia '76. I do remember them being so far ahead of time that I barely got what they were doing. Maybe it's time for a re-evaluation.
